| My summer work shows some aspects of Gujarati culture. Ganesha also known as Ganapati - God of wisdom, knowledge and new beginnings. There are lot of different kinds of God in my culture, their is no specific one that is more special than another. The Middle piece say's "Proud Gujarat", in my language. I should have done it more creatively so it won't have looked so plain; however, these artworks are part of the beliefs and hobbies that i like. From my point of view: Ganesha is the God whose stories are fun to hear about; Gujarati language is my home language that i love to speak; and Dandiya (Raas, Garba) - a type of dance form in Gujarat (usually performed by every Gujarati who celebrates the festival Navaratri). My favorite thing about Dandiya is that during Navaratri, i can do Dandiya till mid-night with my sister (and other people too). |
