In Art 1 class, I had to do a recycled project along with my other classmates. Everyone choose different recycled objects for their projects: bottle caps, plastic bottles, can tabs, dictionary paper, etc. While, I choose to use recycled paper (magazines, newspaper, etc.) to make a vase. Obviously, I had to research on how to make it possible. It looks simple but it takes time and lot of effort to finish it.
I started off by cutting out magazine papers and rolling them to form a stick (use glue to hold it together), and then roll the stick to form a roll (use glue to hold it together). Then I made rolls throughout the class periods and whenever i had free time. It hurt my fingers when doing the rolling of paper especially the last round of rolling; because it needed to be tightly glued so it would hold the vase together. As the bottom, i just rolled paper after paper connecting them and made a big enough roll so it stands as a base of the vase. I made as many rolls of paper as needed for it to look like a vase. I finished the project and even though it does not look that great i think i feel proud of this work.
